This weekend the 13th & 14th March see’s the PDC Pro Tour move on to Wigan for the Players Championship 7 and another uk open qualifier as the race hots up for places at the Reebok.

This weekend all the top players are present with the one exception of Ray van Barneveld, who despite a return to form in the Premier League, has still to make his 2010 debut on the PDC Pro Tour.

Of course it’s going to be hard to look past Phil Taylor as a winner, but ‘the power’ tasted defeat against Mark Walsh last time out on the tour and was held to a draw in the Premier League in midweek, so is Mr Taylor firing on ‘full power’ we ask ourselves.

There are a number of players who are playing well at the moment and can consider themselves contenders for the top prize over the weekend, with the likes of Ronnie Baxter, Adrian Lewis and Mervyn King in particular amongst these.

Jamie Caven has shown yet again he’s such a tough player to beat and showing high levels of consistency and will be looking to maintain that. Gary Anderson continues to show true glimpse’s of his ability, whitewashes over Wade and King showing that and it can’t be long before Gary receives the winners cheque again. Will it be Wigan ?

John Part showed signs he’s starting to regain some of his old form in Gladbeck which was nice to see and the comeback boys Chris Mason and Richie Burnett will be looking to continue the form they are showing.

My players i think to look out for this weekend are obviously Phil Taylor, but something tells me he’s not going to win on both days , so i’m looking for good showings from Ronnie Baxter and Terry Jenkins, the Bull will be looking to up his game from the Premier League and i expect Chris Mason to have another profitable weekend.

We’ve had 6 different winners in the Players Championships so far this year, will we have a 7th this Saturday ?

Let’s get the players on the oche…………..
